TENTANG TSI

As a pioneer leader in conservation and recreational parks, Taman Safari Indonesia (TSI) has become Indonesia’s best loved conservation institute and also one of Indonesia’s most popular natural theme parks.

From its humble beginnings, TSI has successfully managed and bred, many species of animals, birds and reptiles from over 5 (five) different continents, emulating different backgrounds, behaviors and habitats. With its long experience in this field, TSI has obtained both national and international accreditation as the best conservation institute in Indonesia for wildlife management and its supporting infrastructure.

Built in 1980, the first Taman Safari Indonesia at Cisarua, was constructed on a no longer productive tea plantation, with a footprint of 50 hectares. In 1986 Taman Safari Indonesia Cisarua, Bogor, was established as the first true wildlife conservation and recreation park in Indonesia. The park was designated as a National Tourism Object by the then Minister of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications and was inaugurated into Endangered Species Breeding Center in Indonesia by the Forestry Minister on March 16th, 1990. Today, Taman Safari Indonesia Cisarua, Bogor, has grown to 168 hectares and is equipped with a variety of educational and recreational facilities as well as holding a popular night safari and adventurous safari trek.

Continuing the success story of the 1st Taman Safari Indonesia, Taman Safari Indonesia II Prigen, established in 1997 at the slope of Mount Arjuno, covers about 350 hectares of prime fertile land and is the largest safari park in Indonesia. Equally committed to conservation and education, the park holds one of the most important aspects of Indonesian conservation, which is to breed the endangered Javanese bull species.

In 2007, Bali Safari & Marine Park established in Gianyar, Bali, aimed to attract the international and domestic tourist market in Bali, it re-lives the legends of humans and animals in a breathtaking setting of 40 hectares of splendid natural habitat. Offering many sensational highlights, this savanna like park has various attractions, animal shows and international standard facilities such as animal safari journey, night safari, Bali Agung Culture Show, Uma Restaurant, Tsavo Lion Restaurant, Mara River Safari Lodge, and the soon to be open, Marine Park.

Finally in 2010, Taman Safari Indonesia established Batang Dolphins Center in Batang, Central Java as a marine breeding, research, education and conservation center. Batang Dolphin Center is now one of the best domestic tourist destination in Central Java.

Today, Taman Safari Indonesia is determined in its commitment to continue its endeavor to become a conservation, education and recreation park proudly recognised the world over.
